The pub crawl, continued

Continuing our visit... From the outside looking in, I take a peek inside this bar located in the Sydney Cove Passenger Terminal. Located right across the bay from the Opera House, it would offer pretty spectacular views at night! At 7 am it is flooded in bright morning sun, but closed. Do you like the colour scheme here, the red bar stools, the patterned floor, the warm tones?

And Technology

How do you like the old-time look of the Quality Food Corner? This fast food outlet located on the corner of Druitt and Kent Street can deliver for office functions. It features dusty rose walls, an ancient painted ad for Aromeux coffee and some rather stylish (if comfortable?) art deco style tables and chairs. I haven't found a review for this place and I've never eaten there - judging it from the outside, would you walk in to test it or would you go somewhere else ? By the way, what's the "And Technology" bit about? The Kent Institute of Business and Technology has its premises right above.

Conceptually brilliant?

On the corner of Pitt and Bent Streets is a stylish cafe, 8@Bent Street. The self-proclaimed "cafe lifestyle magazine" Crema gives it the following rating (out of 5) : Coffee: 4 - Food: 4 - Ambience: 4. Here is Crema's comment: ' Conceptually brilliant, perfecto espresso, and the atmosphere a choice of lifestyle not to mention the food and the organic Pinot Noir, time to live the CBD again.' Is that more your style than yesterday's pub?

Morning tea at the Royal Exhibition

86 Chalmers Street, 9:30 am: the terrace of the Royal Exhibition Hotel is full of workers in fluorescent jackets having their morning tea pause. I wonder what they're having, tea, coffee or beer? Located right next to Central station in Surry Hills, this traditional pub and hotel features a well-stocked bar, friendly bar staff, a pub TAB with 14 monitors and some pool tables, says their website. There are sixteen hotel rooms above, would you stay there ?

A charming clutter

Sally and I had a wonderful lunch together yesterday, see photo on her blog. We met in a tiny cafe in Newtown on the corner of Albion and Belmore Streets. What a lovely place! Homely, intimate, full of old world charm (I believe the owner is Russian). Before Sally arrived I took a quick snap of the counter: on a wooden table a collection of cups and teapots, fruit, flowers, cookies - what a delightful clutter! Is this something you enjoy or do you prefer sleek interiors where everything is neat and tidy?
