Fashion

Matching colours in Bondi Junction.
I was in Oxford Street at lunch time when I heard a siren and a fire engine approaching. Then two firemen got off the truck and started walking briskly up the street. I followed them, not wanting to miss out on the action: you tend to develop a paparazzi instinct when you aim to come up with one interesting photo a day! But to my surprise, the two quickly slowed down, one took his helmet off (handsome guy!), all sense of urgency seemed to disappear and I figured they were probably just out to buy some lunch! As they were patiently waiting at the curb for the pedestrians light to turn to green, I spotted the girl's matching skirt - that's how my burning action report became a fashion shot !

Friday morning delivery

Friday morning beer delivery at one of Bondi Junction's oldest pubs, on Bronte Rd. Friday nights after work are always a busy time in pubs, so better stock up! I don't drink beer and pubs are not part of my culture, but I've come to regard Tooheys, Fosters, VB (Victoria Bitter) or XXXX (pronouce Fourex) as familiar names that I think of fondly. What's your favourite Aussie beer?
And to start the weekend with a smile, I suggest you go and have a look at the Wilbury Family Album. Isn't that fun?

Market Day in Bondi Junction

Thursday is market day in Bondi Junction. It's a small one but outdoor markets are such a rare thing in Australia I really enjoy it. The hours are not 7am to 1pm as they would be in France but more 9 to 3, so the market is in full swing at lunch time when all the office workers come down from the buildings nearby. It tends to focus on organic (bread, fruit and veg, wonderful apples), but also offers a variety of foreign foods : Indian, Sudanese, Hungarian Lángos (pronounce langosh, see photo dated 22 Oct from Szentes Daily Photo), Turkish gozleme (spinach, cheese or mince) etc. Yummy ! I also love the way all stalls are decorated and sellers dressed up in an attractive way - the Turkish girls in pink were really cute!
