Flannel flowers

Posted by Picasa OK, so this weekend is all about flowers. But how can I ignore spring when it blossoms right in my face with such splendor? This Sunday I'm taking you out of town for a breathtaking walk along the coast. These are called flannel flowers. They are native to the east coast of Australia and their name comes from the soft cottonny feel the petals have to the touch. I dedicate these flowers to my mum, who enjoyed them so much when she came here to visit. More about flannel flowers here. Enjoy!

Bon dimanche ! En savoir plus sur cette espèce...

I didn't know about flannel flowers. These ones look great, specially on the place you captured them by the sea.
