Bottle at sea

Totally unrelated to Sculpture by the Sea but just as magic, I found this bottle on the beach, washed ashore by yesterday's storm. I love the way the shells cling to its neck. Looks like a bottle of Johnny Walker, don't you think? Whisky, pirates, my mind starts racing... Alas, no message inside!
What a miraculous find! Very little ever gets washed ashore on Sydney's beaches : hardly any driftwood, no coconuts, tongs, plastic bottles or weeds as I've seen elsewhere around the globe. Either the Tasman sea is incredibly clean or the currents just don't come to shore. What does the sea yield on your beaches?

Natalie, how I wish I had a beach!! When I vacation in Mexico on the Pacific, there are lots of shells when I walk in the a.m. Nothing else. Wouldn't it be fun to find a message in a bottle??

Ooooh, I love this shot. The glass looks so clear and clean, and the shells are so neat stuck to the neck!

you should have fooled us and put a message in the bottle ;)

i will probably show you one of these days what one can found on the shore of our lake, you would be amazed.

Your sand is really golden! This one is almost too good to think it was a find! It would also make a great Christmas card, don't you think? Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful blog, Nathalie!

Maybe the bottle is a cry for help from Robinson Crusoe? (he was short on stationery, you know ;-) He was marooned in Chile, a skip and jump from the Tasman Sea...

Merci d'avoir visiter mon blog!

That is a wonderful photo. Nathalie. It does provoke ideas of pirates and stranded persons.

The bottle is a message all by itself, a message I understand as a reminder of the waste and clutter we humans create in our world.

Thanks for your visit and comments on my blog, Nathalie.

Thanx for worrying about me dear nathalie. I got a flu, but I am OK. Messages in bottles? Bottles in the Pacific? Messages in the sky? Everywhere has messages. I am sure.

A big hug

Natalie, thanks for your kind words on my blog. Its much appreciated.
This is a great shot. Very magical and mysterious. My immagination sees messages too.
Wish our beach was that clean. We get a few shells, seaweed, and I'm embarrassed to say, Trash. It boggles my mind to see the irresponsibility of so many.

A fantastic image...
Also I get to imagine arrested messages in her interior waiting that someone reads them...

The problem of the pollution of the sea is a very delicate subject... In the Portuguese coast you can find of everything! It is an area of average forts and a lot of sea traffic...
As it would be good that all these problems were sent inside of a bottle...
But they don't fit...

Thank you for your visit and comments!
Unhappily my blog is not daily, but weekly...
Forgive me...
