Fog!

This photo is less than an hour old. When I woke up this morning I couldn't see across the street. It's SO unusual to have fog here I just had to run off to the beach to see what it was like. Here's the lifeguard's tower (unmanned of course at 6:30 in the morning). The sea is right there in front of you but you can't see it. You can only hear the waves swooshing softly on the beach. Eerie and wonderful.

Posted by Picasa

That's nice and melancholic, isn't it. One wants to curl up with a hot drink, a soft blanket and a good book. Or, if that one is you, to grab the camera and take a photo to share with the rest of the world. Thanks Nathalie.

Good shot. I was kicking myself as I drove to the gym at 5.45 cos there was a wonderful sight of mist rolling around on top of green in one of the parks....didn't have my camera.

Now it's all burned off and it's hot and humid!

that's a fancy lifeguard's tower and the fog makes it mystical.
great capture Nathalie.

The unexpected fog caused chaos for commuters using ferries on the harbour. Beautiful shot.

Very nice light and difuse effect on the sun.

I love this shot, nice one!

I also reminds me of fresher weather... nice.

Cheers,

Bluey

Bravo

Superb this photograph. Really Cheer and courageous, outward journey to take a photograph with 6h1/2. You would have to record the sound and to put it on your blog, one would have had environment moreover. With a small music well distressing, and veiled us in a film of Carpenter. Cheer

This looks so much like where I live. Too much fog, but yours is a great shot of it.

Yes Paul - as I was driving to work at 8:30 I heard on the radio that several ferry services, in and out of Manly in particular, had been postponed because of the fog. A good number of people will have arrived late at work today!!!

And Bluey, the temperature was hardly fresh - rather felt like a tropical rainforest: hot, moist and sticky. We had a storm last night but it obviously didn't clear the air. The humidity just hangs in there and clings to you.

Very nice, Nathalie.
I really like this. Light source behind the guard house, and fog is filtering the like to soften up. Very tasteful.

Kris is right. It's nice to know we have an audience. :) Love the shot.

Fantastic photo, but totally un-Sydney-like! Good on you for running barefoot and in your jammies to the beach, Nathalie.
