Naked crowd

Yesterday saw the opening of Sydney's Writers Festival.
From Monday 28 May to Sunday 3 June, hundreds of Australian and international writers converge to Sydney to celebrate the written word and the power of storytelling. See today's programme here. As I walked past Customs House on Friday night I saw big preparations being made for the opening function. I was surprised however to find that the crowd was naked.
Maybe it's about words stripped bare exposing the naked truth?

Natalie, I think it's that plus exposing the soul! I wonder about the muses; mischievous little devils, I think!

Yes Kate. In fact I have no idea whether this unusual display of mannequins had anything to do with the Writers Festival. But since it's about words transforming the city, I figured I could join in the spirit and make up my own story!

Indeed, naked head to toe. There may well be a story here. :)

What won't they invent next to give the impression of a big crowd attending...

Blanc et noir - now we're talking! This is a really exceptional shot in my opinion, and B+W makes it. Why? Well it focuses the image on the contrast between the two main forms, architecture and figure, organic and structural. The tones are beautiful as well. Much prefer this I have to say to the beach and harbour shots

Well that sure got my attention. Yes it must be about the naked truth.

It would be interesting to know if this finally had something to do with the Writers Festival.

Very nice shots!

Wow, two great shots, even the small one. Strange contrast, the archway and the modern dolls. Interesting expression on their 'faces', so bored ;-)

Amazing nudes. Glorious lighting.

Interesting narrative to about the power of the word.

I did write about how people used to wear long underwear over winter or until we began to stink. You can find the link at the bottom of the post today.

I hesitate to add a comment as last time I posted a shot of naked mannekins on Hyde DP I got accused of being a dirty-old-man [or maybe something worse]

Perhaps there had been a fashion week there previously and the mannekins are being moved to make way for the writers.
