Surf's up!

Nine months that I'm showing Sydney off and not once did I post a surfing photo. It's about time! This afternoon at Bronte beach was just divine. Although the waves weren't very big, they were nice and clean with a very light offshore breeze that kept the seas flat - just long lines of swell rising as they neared the shore - the sky a uniform blue, the air just warm... What a delightful Saturday afternoon!

Wonderful photos. It would be nice to surf but I don't know how. I bet it's nice sitting back and watching though.

The varied shades of the water makes the activity even more inviting. I love to watch surfers--grace, skill, and daring at the same time.

I do hope that you went in. That water looks magnifique.

I really like your surfing photos. I like your photos of Sydney a lot. They are always of interest to me.

I must confess though, I never did surf.

I have tried to get into that surfing position, standing in the bathtub, but I never went anywhere.

We don't have a nice ocean like you have so things like scuba diving, beach combing, looking for sea shells, and surfing are not even remote possibilities.

I am stuck here in Ohio. Where I live is flat at a pancake and the only water around is what comes out of the faucets and as I have said it only gets as deep as the bathtub.

If it hadn't been for Discovery Channel, I would have never known surfing is so popular in Australia. Great photo.

NO M.benaut, I didn't go in but I could have !

Another positive aspect of Bronte [assuming it hasn't changed too much?] was the natural parklands and bush behind the beach. Many beaches lack the sort of attractive adjoining spot Bronte has/had.
