Sculpture by the Sea, continued

Posted by PicasaThere were so many interesting pieces at Sculpture by the Sea, here are two more. I can't give you the names of these artworks or their author because I don't have the exhibition catalogue. It is usually available for free at information booths along the way but because it was so late afternoon and frightfully cold and windy, the booths were unmanned. You will be left to your own devices to appreciate these sculptures as you see them, no prejudice attached. What I personally like is that both convey a sense of movement perfectly atuned to the environment. Do these sculptures speak to you? Which one do you prefer?

Great! More of the exhibition. I love them both but biased towards the 2nd one. The artist was very clever to incorporate movement into the piece.

Great stuff ...I prefer the "tree" one - I like hte way it blurs boundaries between art and nature

For me, comparing the two sculptures is comparing apples and oranges.

However, I prefer the composition of your photo of the woman. In this image, the women is inseparable from the wind swept landscape. For me, it is easy to visually separate the other sculpture from its background.

Of course, you know they are both great pictures!

the 2nd pic lets you feel the wind at the seaside. (even though there might not be windy)

was it windy when you took it?

The mood, the light, the rough sea behind, the wind, the golden rays and the sculpture. Wow, amazing beauty.
