Friday morning delivery

Friday morning beer delivery at one of Bondi Junction's oldest pubs, on Bronte Rd. Friday nights after work are always a busy time in pubs, so better stock up! I don't drink beer and pubs are not part of my culture, but I've come to regard Tooheys, Fosters, VB (Victoria Bitter) or XXXX (pronouce Fourex) as familiar names that I think of fondly. What's your favourite Aussie beer?
And to start the weekend with a smile, I suggest you go and have a look at the Wilbury Family Album. Isn't that fun?

It is Friday there, yet it is Thursday here...quite the mystery...

Had to smile when I saw this photo because it reminded me of a mindless ditty of my youth: A Hundred Bottles of Beer...

Your photograph is so touching and interesting to me. I have never knowingly had an "aussie" beer but years ago, in 1953, I began drinking "Sapporo" beer in the city of ice, Sapporo, Japan. I liked it.

Now, however, I buy a six-pack of beer (whatever is on sale -- usually Millers Lite) and that will last 12 months. Imagine that.

Thank you for commenting about my honey bees.

Nathalie,
My post today is in your honour, Madame. Next time when in Sydney, I shall bring YOU some Coopers, Sparkling Ale, and we will celebrate!

Whoa - looks like we overdid the sherry mate! (I guess you need to remember the advert for that to make sense). On the subject wasn't it Castlemaine that produced the ad campaign "XXXX, the beer that helps you get through"?
Tins of VB are very popular in Zurich with the ex-pats, but I can't imagine why, there very expensive as well

Nathalie how quickly you forget! Or perhaps airplane mechanics wearing extremely tight shorts are commonplace in Sydney. Check your March 14th post for reference....:)
No dope smokin' here in Minneapolis...just some leftover emotional scars from those shorts!

In the 50s that hotel used to sell what was then Sydney's best beer, Resch's. The brand name survives, but the original brewery, and style, was lost in a takeover. The name survives, but it's not the same.

Perthaps I have incurable treminal mostalgia?
