Horsepower

- Aye, things ain't what they used to be, mate...
Are four wheel drives all the rage in your city too?
It seems to me that here they are mainly used to take the kids to school!

Yep - they're everywhere. In Zurich they are known as the Zuribergpanzern. (Zuriberg being the area where a lot of people have more horsepower than sense). I wrote about it last year on my Zuri blog. http://www.forthmedia.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/9/9/Drinking-for-three

Oh, those 4X4s. So that "school wagon" thing is a disease of the Western World...even in Zurich and even in France - I thought London was the "plague centre"!! However, the metal horses look good.

N, tks also for showing the Aboriginal scenes on the library doors.

And here I was, thinking it was a uniquely South African phenomenon... :) Women here love to drive their 4X4s to the shopping mall, because then they can park on the pavement when the parking bays are full; it drives me crazy! They also have a tendency to drive as though they own the road...

4x4 des villes, 4x4 débiles.

Well, same thing in France, you know...

In Italy it's the absolutely the same and unfortunately it isn't comforting to read that in a good part of the whole world there's same situation of brainless people that use those cars to go to the tennis club or to take children at school polluting, in the meanwhile, all around.

I turn up when I see horses or dogs. I posted our puppy pictures this morning too. I love horses. I used to be a cowboy way back in 1952.
