...And the original

I had promised myself I'd never do the standard tourist shot.
Never say never, because there you are. But then I couldn't just leave you with Coke's ersatz image of the Sydney Opera house, could I? Here's the original, from a similar angle so you can compare it with yesterday's view. This has to be the most conventional picture you can think of but one thing may save it from the ordinary: the early hour. At 7am, the only people around are locals running or walking along the water's edge. No tourists at all - apart from me!
Can you picture yourself doing your morning jog here?

I think if a subject is wonderful, then why not show it even if its a tourist image. Its a wonderful building and the place you show would make a fine place to jog, especially at different times of day, with different light.

I'd be curious to see what the building looks like up close.

Natalie,

It's all your fault...

I promised myself the same.

What can I say, I just can't get sick of admiring this iconic building. And I must add that knowing its fabulous modern & pure design has been created in 1956 blows even more my mind...

Lovely photo and building. I like how you personalized the image with an explanation about your jog.

I dont know if I could consider you a tourist but I definitely would love to run here! I try to avoid tourist shots too but sometimes, even I cannot resist the things tourist love most - the beach =)
