Moonrise

There was a full moon yesterday, did you see it too? I took a walk along the coast to watch it rise. This looks like a vast savannah but there are no more than a few bushes here. The way the salt-burnt trees are bent tells about the strong dominant winds that blow from the ocean. You can actually catch a glimpse of the sea on the right if you enlarge the picture. The air was fresh and salty, invigorating - wonderful.

When it is full moon in australia, what does that make it in the northern hemisphere, chuckle chuckle.
It must seem strange at first, seeing the sun rise the opposite way to up here on top of the world.

nous avons fait tout les deux un sujet sur la lune aujourd'hui.
ta photo est tres belle, cela donne une impression de photo dans une brousse.

Nathalie-thanks for all your kind comments!
I've also enjoyed your comments on some of the other full-moon shots around the world "It makes us all feel closer" is perhaps my favorite!
Wonderful capture!

So lovely. I snapped a photo of the moon yesterday going to work, similar to this one. But our trees are not leaning (though some broke under the ice last week).

perfect composition and colors and in the large version I can see a bird under where the moon is!

Really nice shot of Moonrise. I like the subtle ocean in the distance.

Ah, bonjour, Nathalie. The bending tree seems to bow before the moon's beauty.

Your moon shot is soooo pretty! It fascinates me that all over the earth we are looking at the same moon! It makes me feel warm and tender toward everyone on earth, that we look at the same sky and perhaps dream the same dreams. I did take some shots of the full moon, also. Maybe I will post one of my full moon shots, although they aren't as great as yours.

Had to return to see the photo again--the tree gives it wonderful balance. You really started something; now we're getting mooned by everybody!! ;>)

Yes Felicia I have to apologise for the words "brotherhood of the full moon", let's go for the "Full moon society" instead !!!! Waooooo !

And Carol, yes we look at the same sky and at the same moon. It is of great comfort to my mum to think that too. She lives in Paris, I live in Sydney, and on every full moon we particularly think of each other !
