Something wicked this way comes

Something wicked this way comes – Macbeth.
Who left this mysterious and spooky warning on the pavement of Oxford Street? The full line "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes” is said by the second witch in Act IV scene 1 of William Shakespeare's play Macbeth. The phrase is also the tagline of the Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban movie. See the long shadow approaching, are you shivering yet?

Fantastic! At first I thought it might be a poster or program cover for something like Bell Shakespeare Co. And seeing as it's not, IT SHOULD BE!

[Sorry I haven't got back to you yet about a date - life is far too hectic - hope to do so today]

And, like you I've taken the word verifiction off and turned on moderation, so, fingers crossed!

Aw, very nice! Great shot. An oddly appropriate quote for the theme.

Excellent. Original and spot on with the theme... If there was a contest for the best shot of the First of the Month Theme, I would vote for that one. And not only because you're my friend. Honest.

Excellent. Vraiment.

How very odd...... The message in paint, not the photo :)

Great photo and theme contribution ... We saw Macbeth recently and loved it.

Nicely done, Nathalie. You are a creative soul.

Nathalie, I love your super and clever capture. There is a bit of "wierd sisters" phenom going on with both you Sydney girls this theme day. Sally's is ghostly, and yours has a spirit all its own, too.

Clever photo for the theme!

Volmon said...

Unlike you, Nathalie, I am going to be very unoriginal today and simply agree with what everybody else has been saying. A very inventive solution!

that- is brilliant. the most creative theme picture easily..

Yes this is very spooky!

What a coincidence. We just saw a wonderful performance of "MacBeth" in Cincinnati last Sat. The cast was from around the globe. The witches were very untraditional. They put a heavy Lesbian look to the witch scenes. It worked though. Great Photo!

Brilliant! Do you know about the Ray Bradbury Short story collection (and short story, too) of the same title?

I can't stand Shakespeare but I love your photo--very original take on the theme--great work.
